Banks already tell you to be careful as you do bank transactions on the internet. It would also help if you took a bit further by inspecting every single online portal you use for banking. Fraudsters would mimic your official bank brand to make you part with crucial bank details.
Check that the web page is secured, and you use a token only you and bank know of. Ultimately, don’t do internet banking if you can avoid it – a simple case of “better safe than sorry”.
#5 Don’t give money details to strangers over the phone
Whether it is a “bank agent” calling for your debit card details, or a telemarketer who wants to know your business email, don’t give away crucial bank details over the phone. It might have happened that the fraudsters have intercepted your online activities at some point, and they are looking to go in for kill.
No real bank would ask for your debit card details: they gave you in the first place, and definitely have records somewhere for that. Also, emails are something you give you want to communicate with, not the other way around.
